Snowy River Lullaby, by rising-star composer Naomi Dodd, is the first single from Matt Withers & Callum Henshaw’s forthcoming album Here & Now for guitar duo. Responding to an installation by Australian visual artist Sue Needham on Gubbi Gubbi country, the piece captures the varied, earthy textures of the Australian landscape, brought to life by Withers and Henshaw with virtuosity and sensitivity. Through the manipulation of rhythm, pitch and volume, Dodd creates an immersive listening experience that seeks a deep connection with the listener. Naomi is currently Young Composer in Residence with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and lives and creates on the land of the Darug and Guringai peoples.
This single is from Matt Withers and Callum Henshaw's upcoming album Here and Now. An album performed by the guitar duo and featuring premieres and existing works by composers such as Elena Kats-Chernin, Naomi Dodd, and Nat Bartsch.
